John Madden stated Cover 2 Scheme emphasizes Zone Coverage that protects weaker coverage db's including the CB's that are slower and weak in man coverage, but have good AWR (watching the QB's eyes while in zone coverage, in position to make a play, by deflecting the pass, getting the INT, or laying a big hit to knock the ball loose like a true Hitman)!
Role "Contain Corner" is suited for those slower guys, while Quick Corner role can be assigned to those DB's who have the speed/agility to keep up in Man Coverage!

And just like the OC knowledge rating, the DC knowledge along with the ratings for coaching LB's, FS, SS, and CB dictate how well they will play in said coverage's and make said plays!

So try the Cover 2 defense for them to see any improved play!
