ALWAYS Back up any files you plan on editing BEFORE trying to edit !!!

The Madden Resource Editor is distributed in the hope that it will be useful,
but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of
MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

This is work in progress (WIP), various items may or may not work.
There will be plenty of bugs, do not expect ANYTHING to work 100%

Compatibility : PC versions only.
Windows 7 and possibly Windows 10. Requires dot net 471

Helpful tools :
Frosty - https://frostytoolsuite.com/

Main Menu Options :
About
DAT Editor - Madden 04-08 only. WIP, no discussion.
Generic DB Editor - Madden 04-08 and Rosters only. WIP, no discussion.
Madden 19-20 Franchise - viewtopic.php?f=115&t=22137

Madden 19-20 Franchise :
To make full use of this editor will likely require more than just a basic understanding of Windows.
This will NOT work for Rosters, Draft classes or anything other than the Madden 19/20 Offline save file.

Madden 19-20 Franchise Save Files:
Franchise editor requires read/write access to the physical franchise save file and will work ONLY on offline franchises.
These files are usually named something like "CAREER-[FILENAME]" and are located in
Documents\Madden NFL[version]\settings and are approximately 2.80MB in size.

Required Files :

The editor requires correct schema.xml file to operate correctly.
The editor also requires 3 FTC files.

Any time Madden is updated, various editor functions could be affected and cause unpredictable results.
The above files can be extracted after an update is applied and the editor should then function properly.

By default these files are provided in the res/[version year] of your install directory for MoRE.
These files are based on the current released version of the game as of the date of this README.

If you do not have the required updated version installed, you will need to obtain these files from your game install.

There are several ways to unpack the game files, the most common and easy way is to use a tool called Frosty Editor.
The link to this was provided earlier.
There are other methods, but will not be discussed here.
If you cannot use Frosty, you will have to search the internet for alternate methods.

Under the Madden tool strip, select 'Legacy Explorer'
In the Legacy Explorer search bar, search for 'franchise-schemas'
Extract 'Franchise-Schemas.FTX' to the directory of your choice.

In the Legacy Explorer search bar, search for '.ftc'
Extract 'Franchise-League-binary.FTC' to the same directory
Extract 'Franchise-SeasonStats-binary.FTC' to the same directory
Extract 'Franchise-Tuning-binary.FTC' to the same directory

Remove the .FTC files and .xml file from the res directory and version year directory of your install directory for MoRE.

Copy the above 4 files to this directory and then rename these files. [version] is either 2019 or 2020 based on your game year.

Franchise-Schemas.FTX - Schema[version].xml
Franchise-League-binary.FTC - League[version].FTC
Franchise-SeasonStats-binary.FTC - Season[version].FTC
Franchise-Tuning-binary.FTC - Tuning[version].FTC

Optional Files - Player Portraits and Coach Portraits
The editor can display the player/coach portraits if you extract them from your game install.
These files are not included with the install package due to size.
This file can be extracted with Frosty as well.
Search for "portraits.AST" and/or "coachportraits.AST" and extract to the res/[version year] directory of the MoRE install.

Usage :
MoRE main menu opens, select Madden 19-20 Franchise
Madden 19-20 Franchise opens, under file menu, select Open and select a valid madden franchise file.
If successful, the editor will initialize several things and then will display Ready and list the filename it has currenty loaded.
There will be things in the editor that are being displayed but you cannot edit.
These items are being displayed for the purpose of having most everything that is available in the franchise and allowing space for them in the display areas. Various items will likely have their locations changed over time.

There will be some options that are grayed out (not clickable or changeable) or not populated with choices.
These are NOT enabled.

Player Editor:
Under Tools, select Player and the editor will process the player records and the player editor screen will be fully displayed.
This editor screen can be moved around by dragging the title bar.
The screen itself is divided into two panels.
By default this loads with Main player info and Player Ratings.
Either of these panels can be detached by clicking the black square in the upper right hand corner of the panel. Doing this will open each panel into its own window and those can be moved around as desired by dragging the title bar.

If both panes are populated, clicking an option on the menu bar to the left will open that editor option in its own window. If there is a panel open on the main editor, the option will be displayed in one of the open panels.

Main, Ratings, Career Stats, and Appearance can be edited.
Seasonstats, Game Stats are display only and cannot be edited at this time.
Player Abilities introduced for Madden 20 are display only.

Right click on selected player(s) will give an option of exporting those players VALUES ONLY from the player table to csv format.
This will not give you the same values that are on screen for the editor. Only the raw data.
ie.. Team Index will be a number and not "Bears" or similar.
There are no options to import via csv.

There are no options to add or delete a player.
There are no global editing options.
Create Contract is not enabled.
When editing player ratings, player Overall will not being recalculated.
Any editing regarding Overall is not enabled.

Changing a players team :
Largely untested. I tested moving a player from a given team to another given team.
I also tested moving a given player to Free Agency.
I did NOT test anything to do with retired players.
** This does not change anything else but the player's team.
** This does not fix the depth chart, does not change the player/team salary caps.
** YOU will need to correct any other issues caused by moving a player to another team within the game itself.
** If you do not understand what would need to be fixed, do not use this function !

Team Editor :
Main and Misc tabs should be mostly working for editing.
Depth Chart - display only, no editing.
Various stats are display only.
Finances - display only.

Coach Editor
If a combo is not populated (no choices), it is not enabled.

Updated code for the individual editors in the 19/20 franchise editor for stability.

Added code to move coach to different team - This works for the most part, however if you are controlling a team and the coach, the user character will not be updated as such. ie, I moved a free agent coach to Dolphins, which I was controlling as coach. After doing this I pulled up the game and the free agent coach showed up but the schemes, etc were all still attached to the previous coach.
Not sure how to handle that.
