You are perfectly right, 33 is not that old for a QB. Maybe I wouldn't have said that before a few years ago.
My main concern is not his accuracy, it is his mobility. I don't actually run forward with my QBs, but I like to roll out to find lanes and/or buy time when there is pressure. I might have to adapt my playing style if I choose to keep Truman many more years.
Note: RevanFan, reading your journal has really inspired me to be more patient with my aging/regressing players. Still, not many of my players finish their career in Anchorage, but I've learnt not to care as much about speed.
Note: achernar, I chose to keep him another year, but I'm kind of hoping the Argos tank, that I can get high picks for Truman in the offseason, and that I get to face the Argos next season. Would make a nice storyline to face a Truman/Stone/Newman team.
Speaking of storylines, I will be facing the revamped Cowboys this season, in week 15. So unless we play to a rare tie, Dallas and Anchorage can't both go unbeaten like two seasons ago.

I care a lot about physical things like speed, but it's more important to me in some positions than in others.
Most Important: RB, WR, DE, LB, DB
Important: QB, TE, DT/NT
Unimportant: OL, K, P
I LOVE a fast quarterback, but I won't dump him as soon as he starts slowing down. Though, you must note that I have slower regression than is normal for the game, because I think some physical regression, especially for running backs and quarterbacks, is quite frankly ridiculous. No one should drop six points to speed, agility, and acceleration in one offseason unless they break their leg in five places.

Season 47 recap
Teamwise, the Blizzard was not as dominant as in some recent years. Even though they finished with a perfect record, some games were a little close for comfort.
In week 15 against the Cowboys, Anchorage had no answer against WR Landon O'Brien, who scored 4 receiving touchdowns. But, HB Bubba Brady scored 4 of his own (2 on the ground and 2 on kick returns) and made sure his team won the best game of the year.
Brady was dominant all season long, and had only the fifth 3000-yard season in history (over 47 seasons so far). He finished with 3305 rushing yards and 35 TDs, and added a 2-yard TD pass, a 6-yard TD reception, 1781 kick return yards and 8 TDs, 334 punt return yards and 1 TD, 29 tackles and a forced fumble.
LB Ricky Wayne had a more difficult season. Despite having a 41-sack season, he failed to generate turnovers, aside from one 1-INT, 2-FF game. In fact, it was Ike Manson who won the DPOY award with 29 sacks, 3 INTS, 4 FFs and 2 FRs.
After a difficult first season, CB Phillip Thomas was effective in coverage, grabbing 5 interceptions, while rookie Thomas Vaughan picked off 6 passes. It appears the team has its cornerback duo of the future. Caz Gordon did well in his new role as an extra safety and backup cornerback.

Playoffs recap
Bubba Brady continued to be a force in the playoffs. Here, J.K. Lewis also does what he does best to allow Brady to rush into the endzone.
Against the Grudlies, WR Bernie Owen scored a long touchdown, but there was well enough time for Anchorage to recover.
Veterans Todd Rogers and Byron Lucas were both involved in the game plan. Here, Lucas makes a great catch.
The final game was in Miami between two familiar foes. And it didn't start well for either team.
After Bubba Howry shanked the opening kickoff, David Marshall's pass was tipped and intercepted by Jeremy Jackson.
Anchorage marched down the field and TE Julio Stokes scored on a short pass.
TE Antwan Jackson was more heavily involved in the game plan. Here, he makes it to the endzone.
Byron Lucas outran everyone on this 51-yard TD.
Down by two possessions, FB Glenn Hodges tried to score but coughed up the ball.
Todd Rogers catches a TD.
The Cowboys would still mount an incredible comeback that would fall just short.
Congratulations, Blizzard!

Breaking news
QB Truman, LB Wayne, C Dorsey, FB McCoy all shipped out
The team was extremely active on the trade front.
QB Clayton Truman was traded to the Tennessee Titans for a 1st-round pick (2nd overall) as well as 3rd- and 4th-rounders.
The Falcons will continue to give a new life to declining Blizzard stars. After WR Rashaan McLean and DE Dave Heatherington, they are bringing in LB Ricky Wayne. Anchorage and Atlanta are swapping 1st-rounders (3rd overall vs 32nd overall). Atlanta gets LB Wayne, while Anchorage gets speedster WR Daniel Williams and CB Amos Kelly.
FB Jayson McCoy was traded to the Argonauts for the extra 3rd-rounder they got in restricted free agency.
C Eric Dorsey was traded to the Jets for LB Gus Simpson.

Draft recap
The jury is still out on the 1st overall pick (acquired from the Patriots), as defensive tackles can be hard to evaluate. But overall, the Blizzard had a great draft, selecting 9 players. None of them were immediately released.
1. DT Conrad Wheeler (76/21), San Jose State
3. LG Donny Armstrong (84/23), Hofstra
56. LE Lonnie Erb (77/21), Arizona
82. MLB Lamar Swarner (80/23), Virginia
93. FS Carnell Spikes (71/22), USC
115. QB Tai McLean (79/22), TCU
131. TE Alex Riddle (78/22), Colorado State
145. TE Hakim Bryant (83/22), West Virginia
160. RT Jim Sindle (77/22), Georgia Tech

Re: A Colts/Blizzard Journal
Roster overview
As you'll notice, some players are listed at multiple positions. I'll resolve this when I post the opening day roster.
For those not in the know: I don't do the 90-man offseason roster, but I allow my roster to be larger than during the season, using the practice squad to stash extra players. Right now, I think my team stands at roughly 60 players.
QB: 2 Marty Jackson, 3 Tai McLean
Jackson has been in the system for a few years and should have the upper hand, but this will be a position battle to follow.
HB: 39 Bubba Brady, 38 Bert Kennedy, 41 Jeromy Strickland
At 29, Brady is already starting to regress. He still has enough quickness to play for at least 2 years, but the team will have to start thinking of a replacement. K-Bert is an excellent backup, but we have our doubts on his ability to carry the load. As for Strickland, he could be a runner of the future, but we'll have to see more of him to decide.
FB: 33 Anthony Wells, 49 Josh Sindle, 48 Andy Morris, 23 Bill Howard
Wells is clearly the starter, but Sindle has been nicely progressing. The team might be interested in trying him as a ball-carrying back in some packages. A 6'7 running back with 88 SPD sounds like a good start for power runs.
Also, with McCoy gone, we think Andy Morris will fit well as the lead blocker on kick returns.
WR: 18 Brad Koler, 86 Daniel Williams, 85 Todd Rogers, 14 Hariman Littman, 16 Byron Lucas
With Bubba Brady slowing down, will the receiving corps be sollicited a little more?
TE: 89 Julio Stokes, 84 Alex Riddle, 45 Hakim Bryant, 80 Irv Thomas
Stokes is still the uncontested TE1, as he is coming off his 3rd straight 2000-yard season, though his least productive so far.
LT: 70 Blake Riddle
LG: 66 Kenneth Schellermann
C: 64 Donny Armstrong, 72 Jameel Nalen
RG: 65 J.K. Lewis, 73 Earl Blades
RT: 79 Chris Winters, 71 Jim Sindle
Already 32, Lewis seems to be still improving, as he compiled 26X pancakes in the past two seasons. 4 linemen return to the starting lineup in the same combination, the only question being C Donny Armstrong, who was drafted as a guard but converted as a center.
LE: 94 Cody Heatherington, 77 Lonnie Erb
DT: 93 Mark Phillips, 96 Conrad Wheeler, 97 Buck Lane
RE: 92 Josh Boren, 95 Travis Rutledge, 91 Gilbert Holt
There seems to be a logjam on the offensive line, as former first-rounder Travis Rutledge is still having a hard time getting playtime. Rookies Erb and Wheeler, as well as sophomore Lane will also try to get on the field.
LOLB: 53 Gus Simpson, 21 Anthony Carufel, 90 Charlie Harris
MLB: 51 Anthony Sanders, 56 Rashard Tripp, 54 Lamar Swarner, 50 Chris Donaldson, 40 Troy Klein
ROLB: 52 Ike Manson, 57 Bret Mitchell, 58 Hugh Edwards
LB/CB: 21 Anthony Carufel, 52 Ike Manson
There are many question marks for the linebacker corps, and a lot will be answered when the team decides what to do with Carufel and/or the LB/CB position.
Both Carufel and Manson have been tried at that iconic position. After a DPOY-worthy season from the ROLB spot, the team is open to give the spot to Manson, but they are also afraid to tweak things too much. Carufel's speed might help him get a few reps, if not the starting job.
CB: 20 Thomas Vaughan, 22 Phillip Thomas, 29 Caz Gordon, 44 Amos Kelly, 46 Jeff Foster, 24 Sidney Kymer
FS: 42 L.J. Beckett, 29 Caz Gordon, 24 Sidney Kymer
SS: 27 Jeremy Jackson, 28 Damien Clewett, 43 Bobby Dixon, 36 Sung Peterson, 34 Marc Tanner, 25 Carnell Spikes
Officially moved to extra FS, versatile Gordon is also the primary backup at cornerback. The team will have to decide what to do with aging Sidney Kymer and Marc Tanner, who can still help but have been regressing. The logjam at SS will also have to be addressed.
K: 1 Bubba Howry
P: 4 Kenneth Smith
Both starters from last year did well enough that they do not have any competition at camp.
Next update will include personnel moves as the roster is trimmed, and opening day depth chart.

Re: A Colts/Blizzard Journal
Boy you gutted your team's older players with those trades. Brutal. This will be an interesting season.

Re: A Colts/Blizzard Journal
You are correct, it is brutal. With the way regression is set up in my franchise, players rarely get to retire with my team. One exception being legend Hariman Jahoda, who retired at 35. Had he not, I probably would have had cut him.
It surely is not the first time I gut my team, nor the last. Even though I wasn't THAT dominant last season, I wanted to make things a little more difficult.
If/when I decide to start a new franchise, I might tweak regression and difficulty sliders, but I'm deciding against it as long as I'll use this particular franchise.
Yes, next season is gonna be interesting. I have two unproven QBs, and though I like my WR corps, it doesn't contain a superstar yet. Koler and newly-acquired Williams have the potential, but they're not there yet. Bubba Brady is starting to regress, but still has elite speed (96), which is equal to the top speed of one of my best RBs before him, Adrian Jones. And I believe Shawn McNamara (the only other 3000-yard rusher) was SPD 93. So Brady probably has 2 more seasons in the tank. Not sure if I'll be run-first or pass-first, but both Brady and the TE/FB corps should be sollicited a lot.
I hope I get to face the Argonauts this year. They have a ton of former Yetis, so it would be interesting. WR Sheldon Stone, TE Hank Newman, FB Jayson McCoy, LB Orlando Thomas. Maybe I'll forgetting some. I didn't trade them QB Truman because their pick was too low, plus they already have QB Stan Potter.
