Controller Option Suddenly Vanished

For years (since 2016) I have been using a controller (PS4 and later PS5) to play Madden 08 via DS4 Windows. Sometime between when I finished the Super Bowl in February and now, the controller option doesn't show up anymore and only shows Keyboard and Keyboard/Mouse. Any idea what happened? Trying to remap the controller to keyboard strokes via DS4 Windows makes things super clunky, and if I don't use DS4 windows it still doesn't detect either controller.

Just a guess.... disconnect controller, reboot cpu, then reconnect controller.....

I wish it was that easy, but that's already been done. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Madden 08, tried using a different controller program, and it still doesn't detect a controller is connected.

Gridiron is the controller guru here..... your problem can be solved but your going to have to do some reading.....

I've looked around and I don't see what could help there. Every other app/program detects the controller. It's both the DS5 and DS4 controller. No matter what Madden 08 isn't detecting either. But again, Steam games, DS4Windows, and everything else will detect the controller, but not Madden 08. And I'm still dumbfounded on why that is.
