I guess that makes sense. Nick Foles was no longer an option to get.
However, trades can't be made until the 12th of March, so we'll have to keep waiting.
Anyways, isn't it time the Chiefs drafted their own franchise QB? I'd trade down a few spots and nab Geno Smith. Or wait in the 2nd round and take Barkley.

I think they are trying to do that! I have heard that Kansas City is trying to completely re-structure their franchise. So maybe a franchise QB is a future prospect, like Montana was for the 49ers.

They could do like the Giants did with Kurt Warner

You mean Arizona.
Because the Giants benched Warner and started a rookie Eli Manning who went on to lose 6 straight games. Alex Smith had a tough career, I'm not a fan of his but I wouldn't want to see him go through what Kurt did in NY.

I remember Warner starting like half the season and going 5-2 before they benched him.

Re: Alex Smith
lol its all good.
But still... the 7 games Manning sat behind Warner could have been a valuable learning experience.... but obviously with how Manning was performing out of the gate... somehow I doubt Manning learned anything in that time.
I think Manning could've been a better QB sooner in his career had he watched and learned something from Warner.

He started 9 games and the Giants were 5-4.
He had thrown only 6 tds and accounted for 16 turnovers. (12 fumbles in 9 starts)
He was benched beacuse he wasn't playing well. Pretty much his story from 2002-2005.
