Bears-Broncos

Postby torontogrudlies » Sun Sep 15, 2019 7:51 pm

Bears running game got the job done. Although it was good to see Trubisky got tested at the end and had to make a play.

I don't understand the penalty logic on the try at the end. 2 pt conversion attempt, delay of game, Denver gets the option to go for the extra point, but it's marked at the usual yard line for the kick try. Bears commit offsides and Denver again opts to move back to the 2 pt, but now it's from the 1 yard line, half the distance. It's like there was no penalty for Denver.

Still, gutsy call by Vic Fangio to play for the win in his own building against his old team.

Chicago is going to be going nuts about this kicker.

The rule for that one is weird ... basically the offsides nullifies the delay of game for extra points, but moves the 2 point conversion line moves to the 1. It's confusing alright. By that point the least confusing penalty was the Roughing the Passer call ... which was not dumb, but it was brutal and bad.
