It is indeed temporary probably due to too many logistics, trademarks lawyers etc to make a new name happen in time for Week 1.

Roster already updated as well and they are currently using the NFL logo

This happened to the North Dakota Fighting Sioux for a year - they played as just North Dakota until they got the name "Fighting Hawks". The rumors say that the Redskins are trying to get the name "Washington Sentinels".
