He still isn't in

Postby jose21crisis » Sun Jan 12, 2020 8:26 pm

Can we talk about the fact that Don Coryell STILL is not in the HOF? Dude pretty much set the foundations of the modern offense.

Honestly I didn't know he wasn't. I could have sworn he was. That's ridiculous. Do you think he'll be a part of the 2020 class?

The NFL should rename itself the Hall of Champions. Thats pretty much all you have to be to get in.

1-back offense
Clustering one side of the field
TE as a weapon in the pass game

That's ALL Coryell. A MUCH greater innovator than Walsh.

This is a crime against humanity.

Shame on the voters.

You mean this HOF class? Definitely no. They already have 2 coaches in Bill Cowher (great choice) and Jimmy Johnson (also great choice), and I don't think they'll just throw a third coach. Maybe he'll make it as a contributor at some point in the future, but is still so, so confusing the fact that he isn't in.

Cowher and JJ seem like a publicity stunt for the HOF.

Stack both of them up against Mike Holmgren.

Holmgren reshaped, not just 1, but TWO dormant franchises
3 Super Bowls, 1 Title, nearly the first to win 2 with different teams

What Jimmeh built is more impressive, but he bailed at their zenith, and had nowhere near the same level of success in Miami.

Cowher also bailed on a team near the top, then never coached again.

I'm glad Cowher and Jimmeh made it. Honestly. But this seems like a stunt to me. And an unnecessary one at that. This class was already a spectacle. They didn't need to draw more attention to it.

With a 3 and 6 playoff record, he'll never make it.
