Here is the release of version 2 of the FF/FI XIV mod. We've fixed almost all of the issues that have plagued the mod for years, but as always, report any issues as you find them, no matter how small. I and the rest of the mod team hope you greatly enjoy this mod.

   This is the second release of the FF/FI XIV Mod for Madden NFL 08. It updates the game to the 2013 season, with graphical updates, roster updates, schedule updates, and more.

   Before I get to the installation, I'd like to thank Raston, NickyJ, Danchat, Bus36, DrBrownsFan, and Superben21 for their work on the roster, NickyJ for his work on player and coach portraits, elguapo for his graphical updates and uniforms, Raston for his coach updates, NICK, LOBBS, Sleeper66, thumstyx, lionsfan, and BelieverInTeal for their uniforms they let us use, Bason for his soloplayers, Sleeper66 and Austinmario for help with field art, Pick6 for his team logos, everyone who created the tools we use, namely NZA, torontogrudlies, Rexpage, JDHalfrak, and several others, and torontogrudlies for providing a site on which we keep Madden modding alive. I'd also like to thank Donny Moore, who provided the ratings for the Madden game from which our mod's ratings are based.

   Okay. Now the installation instructions.

1. Remove any previously installed mod.

2. Copy the files "launch.dat" and "launch.dat-orig" to the games installation folder, which by default is C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Madden NFL 08\

3. Copy the files from the "Mod" folder to Documents\Madden NFL 08\

4. Load the game and click menu, then file. Find the listing for [Default Roster] and select it. Load that roster.

5. Enjoy.

   To uninstall:

1. Remove "launch.dat" from the game's program folder, and change the name of "launch.dat-orig" to "launch.dat", without quotes.

2. Remove all of the files you added to Documents\Madden NFL 08\

That was there for the first release too. It was posted by 24thejackson58, and I assume he used Fraps or something similar. You'd have to ask him.

I can release players from the default roster, but not from a created roster. I get the message about the free-agent list being full.

The Superstar mode will work up to Combine. If you play the Combine it will work ok but after exiting the schedule messes up for some reason and you can't progress to draft. If you click on a day to progress further game will lock. If you however sim the Combine you will be able to progress past the draft and will be on a team ready for scrims though you miss all the excitement of draft. I was able to play a pre-season game ok but will there be other problems?, I don't know.

I was able to release a player from a created team. But why would you want to release fictional players from the custom team into a FA pool of non-fictional players? Why don't you just delete the ones you don't want with an editor and then replace with some players you could create.
